Chinese Tycoon Sentenced to Life in Prison for Fraud
中国富翁因欺诈被判终生监禁
China's state-run media say the youngest person on Forbes magazine's 2005 list of China's 400 richest people has been jailed for life on charges of fraud. The Xinhua news agency said the court in the southwestern province of Sichuan ruled that 32-year old Zhou Yimin faked financial reports to borrow 48-million dollars from three banks. It said he later acquired a 28-percent stake of a utility company. The court also sentenced five co-defendants to jail terms of between three and five years, also for contractual fraud.
