Israeli Tank Shells Hit Gaza Town, 5 Killed

Palestinian medics say Israeli artillery fire killed five people in a
northern Gaza town today (Monday).

They say an Israeli shell exploded near an apartment building in Beit
Lahiya, killing three people. Shelling a short time later killed two
more Palestinians.

Israeli military officials say the army fired shells after Palestinian
militants fired at least six rockets into Israel.

More than 100 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began operations
in the Gaza Strip to stop militants from firing rockets and free an
Israeli soldier abducted in late June.

Last week, Israel warned Palestinian civilians that homes used to
hide weapons or militants could be attacked.

Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip last year, after 38 years of
occupation.

以色列炮轰加沙城镇 五人丧生

巴勒斯坦紧急救援人员说，以色列炮火星期一在加沙北部一个城镇造成五人死亡。

被绑架的以色列士兵之后，已经有100多个巴勒斯坦人死亡。

上个星期，以色列警告巴勒斯坦平民，藏匿武器或者激进分子的房屋可能被攻击。

以色列去年从加沙地带撤退，此前以色列占领这个地方长达38年。
