China Opposes Draft Resolution to Push Change in Burma

China says it opposes a draft resolution the United States has submitted to the U.N. Security Council declaring Burma's military government a threat to regional security. China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said Thursday Beijing is firmly against the interference of the U.N. Security Council. He dismissed Washington's suggestion that Burma is a regional threat and said the situation there is an internal affair.

Russia also opposes the resolution.

中国表示，反对美国提交给联合国安理会的一份有关缅甸的决议草案，草案称缅甸军政府是对区域安全的威胁。中国外交部发言人刘建超星期四说，北京坚决反对联合国安理会的干预。他对华盛顿提出的缅甸对区域安全构成威胁的说法不以为然。他表示，缅甸的情况属于内政。

俄罗斯也反对决议草案。
