North Korean Leader Makes Public Appearance, First Since Nuke Test
North Korean leader Kim Jong Il is reported to have made his first public appearance since last week's nuclear test, attending a performance marking a state holiday.
The North's state-run news agency K.C.N.A. reported Wednesday that Mr. Kim watched performers sing songs praising him and the communist state to mark the 80th anniversary of a patriotic group called the "Down with Imperialism Union." It said Mr. Kim was accompanied by several North Korean officials.
This is the first time K.C.N.A. has reported on Mr. Kim's activities since North Korea conducted an underground nuclear test last week.
